HOW MY VINTAGE SURF MOVIE POSTERS SOLD ON EBAY AUCTIONS FOR FANTASTIC PRICES
Production Notes:
In 2009, I decided to sell a portion of my vintage 60’s surf movie posters on eBay. My main objective with using this video was to validate that my posters were not reproductions, but originals.
I created this short video, easily inserted the embed code into the poster sale pages, and included detailed information on each individual poster.
The majority of the posters sold for prices which exceeded my expectations and beyond what similar vintage posters were selling for on eBay. I was also surprised at the international response. My best repeat customers were from France and Great Britain.
I had previously never seen a video presentation on eBay. As a first time eBay seller, not only was the video instrumental in giving me a professional presentation but reunited me with a few guys I surfed with 40 + years ago. The majority of the vintage posters sold from $50 to $200 each. One very rare piece sold for over $1000 (USD). This video was an effective tool in gaining customer confidence and had a very positive impact on the overall experience of eBay selling.

Production Notes: This video demonstrates the use of a combination of both photographic images and video, enabling the viewer to get a clear interior view, a feel for the local community and the building itself. Information regarding Decatur was included as an important aspect to any prospective “out of town” potential client. The video was ultimately available through a link on a realtor's website, YouTube & Craig's list. (The contact information was replaced with the realtors) Promotional cards, flyers and brochures, were created that directed interested parties to the online presentation. |
